The Cricotomy Set is indicated for rapid access to the airway when other maneuvers have failed or cannot be performed:

Airway obstruction: sudden complete airway obstruction; foreign body airway obstruction refractory to attempts at elimination; complete airway occlusion by mass lesion (tumor, hematoma, abscess).

Severe upper respiratory edema: anaphylaxis; thermal inhalation injuries; caustic ingestion; angioedema.

Epiglottitis complicated by severe respiratory compromise and/or respiratory arrest.

Inability to perform intubation: bleeding in the upper respiratory tract; anatomical variants (acquired or congenital); regurgitation and/or massive aspiration; severe maxillofacial trauma (fractures of the middle part of the face).
