The Umbilical Catheter is indicated for catheterization of the vessels (arteries or vein) of the newborn's umbilical cord. It is used in numerous neonatal pathologies.

Umbilical Arterial Catheterization (UAC): the purpose of this catheter is to continuously monitor blood pressure and allow frequent blood sampling for analysis without having to perform repetitive punctures. It is used most often if the newborn has severe lung disease that requires mechanical ventilation or blood pressure disturbances that require the use of special medication.

Umbilical Venous Catheterization (UVC): the purpose of this catheter is to allow the administration of fluids and medications without having to replace the IV line repeatedly. It is used most often in immature newborns, with intestinal problems that prevent adequate nutrition and those who require the provision of special medication.
